Euro bike odds and ends
I just made a trip to the local Duc dealer. My GT1000 is suffering from the fuel tank spreading issue. Linky:
Ducati GT 1000 Loose Fuel Tank Problem - webBikeWorld Anyway, my bike is a month out of warranty but GP was very helpful and just needed to snap a few pictures to document the condition of the bike. The gas tank will be replaced under a "good faith" warranty. I guess the tank snapping off and buzglyd bursting into flames is a good reason to replace the tank. Also, the BMW was suffering from the stalling fuel glitch. When I'd pull in the clutch while coming to a stop the motor would die. The local dealer re-flashed it with a new map and it ran fine. However, the warning light now says I'm low on oil! Oi vey. The oil level is fine so I'll have to run back for another diagnostic. Shoulda bought a damn Harley!

That's one of the reasons I chose an FLHT over a K-GT or R-RT this time, BMW just goes too far with their gee whiz electronics, iDrive anyone?

And to think, I missed all that fun buying the Suzook instead of the Duc.
I want a new Multi anyway.

Well the local dealer called back after 24 hours and said the tank would be replaced for free.
As a half Italian with a full blood Italian girlfriend, I've got a special line straight to Bologna.
