The reality is my sportbike days are over. However I can still dream. When I reach my unlimited funds goal a sportsbike will be in the mix just for old times sake. Love the fact that todays electronics enable smoother safer riding. Formula 1 racing technology beifits us again. Long Live Formula 1. Long Live MO.

Very cool bike. Wish I had a motorcycle wish list to put it on. Seems like a logical choice if choosing between euro superbikes.

Wow.
Still not lusting after the looks like, say, first 3 R1 designs- but growing on me. What a first effort- shows titanic arrogance to attempt blowing away all 6, but damn- maby they did. I put nothing past BMW. Didnt they notice the literbike Horsepower wars are over? Winking Pirate sounds subtly pornographic, but aarghh- ill have one in silver. Comparison!! |

That is completely badass. I can't imagine BMW is going to make any money on this bike at that price, especially with dollar tanking the way it is.
So, when can we expect the naked version to take on the Ducati Streetfighter? Gimme gimme! |

Nothing like $1,300.00 service intervals to keep you happy. Gee, what happened to the BMW based Husqvarnas there KD? Too afraid of getting roasted over the coals of truthfull motojournalism?
Oh wait, what was I thinking...

Interesting. I am suprised, yet pleased, that they executed the bike so well.
BMW's branching out into other sectors is producing mixed results. Superbike: So far, sounds great 450 Dirt Bike: Panned by the press, yet has some local success. I have a friend who did very well on one this year, after a lot of development work. However, any attraction I have for BMW motorcycles is directed at bikes that are not extremely similar to everybody else's bikes. These two do not interest me.

What are you getting at, Cuddy? If you're calling me out for something, say it.
BTW, there is no such thing as BMW-based Huskys. As for the BMW dirtbike you seem to hate, I'd be surprised if it was in the BMW lineup in 2012. It doesn't make sense to have it compete against Husky's well-rounded lineup and its dirt heritage. |

There are Huskys on the floor at the BMW shop down the street right now.
