All this electronics makes me uneasy. What will these bikes be like after a few years of wear and tear? The costs of used bike parts are already astronomical in many cases. I already know people who refuse to buy any BMW later than an 1150 series because of the complex canbus issues.

Take it from a car guy. I've leased a BMW and I currently lease a Mercedes.

I'd NEVER buy one after lease. Even the smallest sensor is a small fortune when a warning light pops on.

Once my GT gets near the end of its warranty it will be on the market.

The problem is they don't need tune-ups. They just run until they quit. "That'll be $1,200 for a new computer please."

BMW's don't break down, they only require periodic maintenance.......The occasional $1200 dollar service ensures continued safe and efficient operation
