Just had to stir the pot a bit.

I was reading CWs test of the new H-D Wide Glide. It's interesting to note that in braking performance, the H-D had the exact same 60-0 distance (141 feet) as the Honda CBR600 w/ABS.

I guess the Glide is "overbuilt for the street!"

Somewhere in Seattle, a keyboard smokes......

It's that much improved 100yo technology. Maybe the calcuation was wrong. Pretty intersting, though. How'd that ground clearance thing workout for the HD on the Corkscrew at Laguna?

Didn't we have this argument already a couple of times? Sportbikes don't stop any faster than other bikes. It's a commonly held belief but is unsupported by facts and data.

I believe the article mentioned that the cruiser's low CG and longer wheelbase overcome the additional weight in comparison to the sportbikes. Adding Brembo brakes doesn't hurt either.

80% of HD riders are just going to lock up the rear brake and lay 'er down anyway.

Weight doesn't matter. Heavier bikes have more friction between the tires and the road so it all evens out.
