Well, what the title says - are there any American outlaw biker clubs (or gangs if you will) that do NOT ride Harleys or at least any that allow the use of non-Haley bikes?
What about clubs that allow the use of Indian motorcycles? Those bikes are made in the USA too, right? What about American outlaw biker gangs that ride European or Japanese bikes? Are there any? Last edited by DDR_Fan : 10-20-2009 at 03:27 AM. |

Most clubs let you ride anything you want. If you looked at early photos of the Outlaws MC, they rode Triumphs, BSAs, Harleys and even BMWs.

"Outlaw" clubs simply means clubs that weren't sanctioned by the AMA. There was still a lot of anti-Japanese sentiment in the US in the 60s and these clubs wouldn't ride anything that wasn't built by white companies, hence they rode all American and British bikes. Even parking a Japanese bike near one of their bikes or riding by a group of them on a Japanese bike might have gotten you a beat down.
Why do you want to know? Planning on starting a gang of ne'er-do-wells on Honda furies?

I heard somewhere a few years ago that a lot of HA's were riding BMW's.
Maybe they got a 'Corporate Discount.'

I am a fan of old wartime German Bikes - BMW, NSU, Zündapp, DKW. I was just curious because I watched documentaries on all the major criminal biker gangs and they ALL required their members to ride a Harley Davidson. There were even rules for the displacement - most of the times it is 1000 cc or more. Hell's Angels, Outlaws, Bandidos, Mongols, Pagans - according to the documentaries, all those clubs used Harleys exclusively. Not even Indian bikes were allowed. Thanks to this topic, I learned that some of those criminal gangs do indeed allow the use of non-Harley bikes. _ |

I think we may have identified your problem right there.

Best to think of true 1% 'r clubs like rattlesnakes...they give you plenty of warning to stay away, if you insist on being near them you'll get bit sooner or later.
Ride whatever you like, Harleys stink anyway.
