Man, you need to remember where most of us live. We go touring around our country, it can take weeks of riding.

In your neck of the woods, it takes days, unless you go into the former Bloc or to the Mid-East.

So yes, we think a "Sport-Touring" bike should have bags.

As far as looking silly, the Sprint ST, various Beemers, the older VFR (eventually, given the whole Givi fiasco) and ST1100/1200, the Concours's, the FJR and the Ducati STs have serviceable bags, and no one considers them silly.

The point is, if you are going to build a bike and suggest 'touring', it should have the ability and capability. A -dinky- tank and 'optional' bags don't make it.

Rear seats are pretty much a lost cause, unless you're talking the full-up Touring class.

And is it me, or does the new VFR look like a malnourished Vision when viewed from the front?

You should see the flippin' OOGLY topcase I've got on my FZ6. If I could find a milk-crate that would keep out the rain, I'd use THAT instead 'cuz it'd at least look somewhat less out of place..........
