As a former owner of a '06 Z1000, and one that hated it's suspension, brakes and overall handling, I'm exited to see that Kawasaki got closer to building a true naked sport bike! Although my wish would have been for a TRUE naked ZX10, the 2010 Zed is much closer to the "real thing" than the lousy handling 2003 through 2007's.

If I can't get a CB1000R, I may be riding a Zed again, sometime in the future!

Kawi promises us (and I believe them) this new Z is an exceptional handler. I've spoken to a few people who have ridden it just last week. They acknowledge the old bike's handling shortcomings and unequivocally state this one is improved by a big margin. I might've hoped for maybe 135 hp, but we'll have to deal with a bit less.

This new model, like the old ones, were designed and built for the Euro market, so the bike looks about what I'd expect from a Japanese OEM trying to appear contemporary European.

I have an 03 in orange. It is funny that it was not a sales success. Everywhere I go people love it and think it is a custom bike. I win awards all the time at shows and people don't even believe me when I tell them it is completely stock!

What kind of award could you possibly win with a completely stock bike? Best Purchase of the Year Award Maybe?

Nice pic of the Z on that blog page! I *really* want to be able to justify trading in my '06 Z750S for a new Z1000, but I just can't. Practicality raises its ugly head. Argh!
