Wait a second. Harley didn't invent the cruiser look either. It was owners who chopped and bobbed their bikes and the manufacturers later started providing bikes in that mold. Chopper builders used Harleys and Triumphs mostly with Harleys a clear majority. There'd be more Triumph-style cruisers if the company hadn't gone belly up. That's what is really being copied.

Buz, you and I can discuss this at the next stop while we wait for those slug-a-bed Harley and Star cruisers to catch up.

Catching up is what cruising is all about!

No, Yamaha's actually playing catch up to market demand. Liner owners have been requesting an OEM version with the Corbin fairing and hard bags since inception back in '06. Now with Victory releasing the Vision, and now Cross Roads, and Kawi's Voyager they had to offer something to compete in this category. Can it be phrased they all copying the Street Glide? Perhaps but it's really demand that is consumer driven. I do think they missed the mark by rushing to market with this poor version but that could just be because the redesigned Venture wasn't ready. They could have added the cruise control, they could have had an incredible sound system (it is Yamaha after all), increased bag size, and reconfigured the rear exhaust port for duals on either side, and even added a navigation system. Yamaha could also be gauging reaction of this release to utilize it as input for the new Venture which will have all the bells and whistles.

Your 'Harley Envy' is so obvious, you might as well have a tattoo on your forehead. I don't need you to 'explain' anything to me. You bought a cheap imitation Harley. The people that ride Harleys laugh at you. You get upset because they are riding what you really wanted. What else is there to explain?
You call it Harley envy but you're so wrong. I actually sold my Harley I once owned and won't go back. Don't assume everyone wants one.

I removed it when I put on the aftermarket exhaust, no longer a concern. A real motor needed a real sounding exhaust. My neighbors along with Longrides hate me and that's okay.
