Hi Guys!
Recently a friend of mine gave a PU grade leather jacket but I'm not sure whether i should use it or not. It has shoulder, elbow and back amour and looks like it is designed for riding but i think i came from china. Is it safe to ride with, or should i go and buy another jacket when i can afford it? Cheers |

Better than a t-shirt and flip-flops which seem to be the uniform around here.

Having no idea what "PU" leather is, unless you're talking about the stuff they make in the Philippines that is tanned with urine, I'd say that if the jacket has armor, it was designed (a relative term) for bikes.

Use it until you can buy another jacket. Get your next jacket with CE rated armor.
PU leather is "made from the inner splits of the hide finished with a polyurethane coating." Thickness is from .6 to 1.6mm. It's used a lot in furniture covering. |
