Good basic stuff.

As we've discussed previously here, the best option re: group riding is 'Don't'.

And if you just gotta, keep the number of riders per pack way down, as was mentioned.

And fer cryin' out loud, when there is a big group, break it up on the road into (again) small groups, so faster traffic can get around you.

Cruiser 'processions' are a huge PITA, and they really irritate the cagers.

Heck, it riles me up when I gotta pass a big gaggle on my bike!

There is a variety of pretty standard hand signals, and it's a good idea to have everyone agree up front on the ones you'll be observing

Around here we pretty much know before we leave which hand signal we'll be using.

Default If your average ride has so many bikes...

you have to wait in line to pee at a 10-holer truckstop, then you are a poser not a rider. Real riders do at least 70% of their miles either solo or with a very small circle of like-minded types. Real riders would about as soon be standing in a long line at the DMV to get their tag renewed as riding in a long string of bikes at a snail's pace. The boredom factor is about the same.

If I use the EZ-Leaker to speed up the process, am I a real rider at that point, or do I need to follow some other protocol? Do my fringed arm chaps count? I need to know. I'm trying real hard here.

So this bank robber runs out of the bank right into a crowd of people standing by the door. He looks at one guy and says "did you see me rob that bank??" The guys says "yeah, I saw it." BLAM, shoots him dead. The robber turns to an older couple and asks "did you see me rob that bank??" The guys points to his old lady and says "I didn't, but SHE did!"
