Default New Rider

Hello all,

It's been many, many years since I've been on a cycle... I'm wondering where I should start. First, I'm 6'4" tall and 230lbs. I'm looking for a cruiser, so should I start with a smaller 650 or 800 or would I be okay with a 1100, 1200, etc as a return bike??? What do you guys think???

Buy a Beater, anything small and get your wings back. Then buy what you want. Read the new riders sticky thread on here and pack a lunch, its getting up there on the post count. But good info.

Though with your height a cruiser may be he11 on your back.

Buy a 2000-2003 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 and call it a day. You'll have less than $4k into it and it will last you forever. Take a MSF course to refresh your skills. Good luck.

Thanks guys! The newbie forum has a lot of great info too. I should have known to look there first!

I may have the opportunity to purchase an 1100 at a price I can't let go... The MSF class is a no-brainer and I'll need it! I can't wait to start riding again!!!
