That was a damn good race, even though that little twerp won. Sure like to see the Stoner straighten up and win a few for Ducati.

Nicky's tackle was neat, though I only saw it on the speed report.

that little twerp is taller than all the other little twerps he races with.
Cant wait to find out what ails the Stoner...his will to win in spite of physical injury is well established. Its something else. Not a simple matter of straightening up. |

I didn't mean physical stature by "little twerp." I dunno, there have been other racers who dominated in the past, but they didn't come off as arrogant and self-serving as The Italian Job. Who knows, he's probably a wonderful guy, but we're allowed to root for our favorites and dis the rest.

I believe when when someone is the absolute best in the world at what he does, and borders on being the best ever at what he does, which is what Valentino Rossi is, he has the right to come off as anything he wants to be. The man is a true champion in anyones book. Compare that to the ultimate pr!ck Mat Mladin, who races in Little League and acts like a complete asshat. I'll take Rossi's attitude any day of the week. He is the best.

True, we are.
Hes impish, arrogant, egotesticle-heh, and almost -(with few notable exceptions he wont blame the bike)- all the rest. Wasnt a fan till he walked away from The Best Bike that year, then he and The Mech Magician made my silly favorite brand competitive. Then he made it win. So few have pulled such a foolish trick and made it stick. Thats ego. Bet he makes a better racer than neighbor or wonderful guy...just cant get past that part of his personality that enables the win beyond talent- heck, the backmarkers have oodles of the stuff. Rossi earned my respect by backing up the smirk, ego, and show off displays with......a win. Next time out. So often. He earns his moments of primadonna theater. Would i prefer he had a Ben S personality? Yep. I would be Stones biggest fan if he rode Blue, as is- im a big one. He needs to get healthy so i can drone on about how the best talent can somehow beat the best talents. I think its medically impossible to separate the twerp from the great champion, past or present. All must be insufferable doing something or another.. |
