Cool Laguna's DMG Superbike disaster!

Well not sure if it was due to the type of starting the DMG has imposed but apparently it was a disaster. From Superbikeplanet.

Chaos In Laguna Seca American Superbike Race

Oy vey!

The start to the AMA Pro American Superbike race was a total mess. Originally, Tommy Hayden jumped the start, but the lights never went out and that start was aborted, with another warm-up lap before the second start.

There was a first corner pile-up, and then the pace van came on the course but did not pick up the leaders. Eventually there was a red flag and a complete restart, minus several laps. The four jump starters must serve their penalties.

During the red flag period, Nick Hayden (yes, Nick!) could be seen yelling at AMA Pro officials in pitlane. A round of applause went up when it hit the video screens.

Throughout the media center, the international journalists just looked at the screen, amazed at the procession of events they were seeing take place before them. And laughing.

DMG is making an @ss out of themselves. Boycott AMA racing.

Yeah I used to hit the races as much as I could. AMA Superbike has been a total joke for years now.

World Superbike and Moto GP is still worth watching.

We need to get the damn Del Mar mile back!

Did anyone catch the highside Stoner did in qualifying? OUCH! Takes some giant cajones to get back on a bike after that. His helmet threw sparks.

Mladin: "There's Punishment For Opening Your Mouth"
by dean adams
Sunday, July 05, 2009
In a chaotic few moments during the start of the Superbike race today, disaster was narrowly averted. When the Superbike riders came down the hill from the Corkscrew, ran through turn eleven, made the run up to the bend of turn one and saw ... a "safety car" parked on the right hand side of the track over the cusp of the hill. At "the fastest part of the racetrack" according to Kevin Schwantz.

Riders at the front of the race, including Blake Young and Mat Mladin, said that they did not see the Safety Car/Van until nearly the last moment and were lucky not to collide with the vehicle or be struck from behind by other riders.

In the post-race press conference, multi-time Superbike champion Mat Mladin said that the underlying problem in the US series today is the fear of retribution that the riders and participants have from DMG/AMA. This allegation is nothing new.

"I think the most important thing," Mladin said, "is that everybody around here is actually scared to say what actually happened out there ... because there's always punishment around for opening your mouth or telling it like it is. Nobody is going to open their mouths until probably somebody dies, so nobody is going to do anything abut it. It's a real shame that it has come to this."

Sportbike is the only rolling start I believe. To which was an excellent almost insane race.

That's because they want a$$holes like you OUT of AMA racing Mat. They hardly need a cherry picking, arrogant pr!ck like you that tells everyone how much all the other riders suck, along with every single track that sucks, race after race, and year after year. So just STFU and race or go home PLEASE! Get it yet Mat? You will.
