The 675 ergos are extreme. But it ain't a sport/tourer. For greater comfort the Street Triple would be a better choice...same great triple sound and torque, less agressive riding position. Still, it would be nice to have an intermediate bar height. Less upright than the Street Triple...not as racer-crouch as the 675.
I'd like to see a sportbike based on the Speed Triple engine...something like an "Uber Sprint" maybe.

Pretty bikes but like my 07 Ninja better. Sat on Daytona. Extreme egos for my 6'0 chiseled frame. That is one bike where going to the gym won't help. So much pressure on the wrist. Nice review you guys just keep getting better and better. Great work Kevin, Pete and Fonzie

Am I the only one who thinks the Daytona is perfectly comfortable? I must be a mutant.
I do go to the gym a lot, though. P.S. I'm still looking for a track bike. A slightly-dinged ZX would do the trick nicely. Then I can do my own comparo. Everyone wins! |

There's a guy (my house painter) selling a slightly grazed low-mile Pewter D675 here. I haven't clapped eyes on it.
Needs rear views, unless you don't need them. Like, if you're racing. He says it runs great, but he can't stand the ergo's. Check Craigslist for FL, use 675 for a search.

If it is, your housepainter has inhaled too many fumes. He's asking 7K for a theft-recovery bike...without turn signals, a questionable paint job and two different rims (there's an SE gold wheel on the front, which he neglects to mention). Seems to me there was more damage than, and I quote, "some scratches." Plus, he claims there's only 500 miles on the bike, but judging from the lovely gold color of the exhaust pipe, I doubt it. Mine didn't turn completely that color until long after 500 miles. All that aside, he went and fixed the thing (sort of); I have a full set of lightly scratched plastic and a headlight assembly sitting in my garage that could have been put to good use (from when some bozo knocked over my then three-month-old bike and managed to barely scratch EVERY piece of plastic--that's talent!) And, alas, the bike's in Florida, anyway. Probably not worth it to have it shipped up here unless he's willing to make a real good deal. Seriously, though, thanks for the tip. It's always worth a look. |

It was nice to finally hear the much ballyhoo'd "Song of the Triple." It really is a hoot.
There's a Triumph dealer in town called "Pure Triumph." Except they sell Ducatis and some other brands, so they're really "Sorta Amost Virgin." But, I rarely see the T's; I guess they're like urine in the public pool, absorbed into the parts per million to a point where you don't notice them so much.
