As a new owner of a Multistrada with 2600 miles on the clock I have to wonder if you had the same bike I do? Calling the transmission notchy or reluctant is the last words I would use to describe my bike. I would save notchy and reluctant for my former Tiger, current DR650, or even a GS. Shifts on the multi are extremely positive without any missed shifts EVER. I rode an Adventure, a GS12, and a Strom in my quest to find the right bike and the Multi shifts better than any of them but the feel is definitely different from the rest with a positive feel but requiring a little more pressure.
As for the lean fueling off idle (and when cold) and the additional effort for the clutch you are right on the money. I plan to try a Fatduc to eliminate the FI stumbling off idle. How does it fit in the adventure world? About the same as a new Tiger, Versys, or Uly ~3-5% dirt and 120% in the twisty mountain passes. For the dirt and in commuting traffic my DR650 assault vehicle comes out first But on the windy road the Multi is unmatched. |

As for the ugly comments, I would say it is different but a work of art. Take a look at the bike from all angles and really look at the form and it may grow on you as it did on me. My first impression was much the same as many of you.
If your idea of a beautiful bike is the standard, copycat, 2 eyed beast then go with the masses and buy a Strom. |
