Had a thought after reading this. Serious bicycle riders, who spend more on their ultra light and trick bicycles than a lot of us do on our motorcycles, care a great deal and spend a lot of money to ensure a custom fit.

One does not have to spend thousands "fitting" a motorcycle, but simple mods and getting a bike that is in the ballpark size wise is important. Different footpegs, bar bends and risers are easy examples.

My takeaway though is the manufacturers would do well to make bikes somewhat adjustable with different seat and peg heights easily available. There is some of this out there now, but it is the exception instead of the rule.
