Sheesh, fooled again. And at my age..........

The weather was supposed to be showers diminishing to partly sunny, a drying trend..spring is here..warming up to the upper 50's..

Great sez I! I jump on the bike @0500 this morning, it's dry at my palatial mountain compound so I just wear my swanky new hand-made-in-Spokane Washington-USA Whites work boots and my trusty elkhide gauntlets and of course the 'stitch and off I go....

Till I got a mile down the road and the sky opens up for this epic monsoon deluge of Biblical proportions I kid you not...I felt like a durn scuba diver. Not usually a problem really, I have belt drive, 'lectronic ignition, EFI and a stock airbox, the bike would probably run underwater if it had to. The problem was my more or less waterproof Combat Tours (which I'm pissed at) are warm and dry in the garage and my waterproof gloves are nice and snug in my saddlebags under a ton a sh*t I didn't feel like digging through to get at...

So there I am, motoring along snug and dry except for my feet and hands which were in fact cold and wet, peering through the dark, fog and rain on my visor when this dam* cow comes trotting across the road, then another one.. I guess ol' farmer Jones forgot to lock the gate or something. I get around them and continue on my merry way to work wondering WTF, is it going to be one of THOSE days?? Anyway I get to work OK, slightly worse for wear and tear, get my old Doc Martens and some clean socks out of my locker and settle back for another 16hrs. of steady steaming.

In all honesty my Whites Smoke Jumper boots held up well, they and Wesco Boots in Scapoose Oregon are a NW icon who built their name supplying hand made and custom fitted boots for the logging industry and they really are the best you can get, like wearing slippers only they weight 6 or 7 lbs, they hardly let any water in and I haven't even treated them yet. Like I said, the best in Made in USA craftsmanship.

The moral is of course, don't listen to that girl on NWCN that does the weather...she lies like a rug!

Haven't heard that in a long time. Those things are great and would last an entire fire season. They would keep your feet well protected and like you said very comfortable. Miss those days. I love the smell of Pinon-Juniper smoke and 2 cycle exhaust (chainsaw) in the morning.

Sarnali supposed to be sunny this weekend , I am riding the Ninja down to the town of Rainer to see my girl ride in an Equestrian Eventing clinic. Usually I end up being her "Groom" i.e. stable boy. Don't worry Buz it's worth it. Got confused on the dates. Next month we make our contribution to global warming with a Ford 250 and 4 horse trailer caravan up to Blaine. The caravan usually has a colletion of 3/4 ton to 1 ton pickups with varying trailers of different size.A real carbon foot print celebration

Dude, I'm surprised that someone your age hasn't learned that weather reports are suggestions. Although most local weather reports could be improved measurably by installing a window in the office.

Tha satallite picture showed a little smudge of rain over the south sound then dry for the next few days. I didn't realize the little smudge was right over me.
