Throw in the VFR- it has bags for a grand- to see if the old girl will hold it's own against newer equipment.

I'm not so sure that the ideas of "sport tourer" and "comfort" are totally compatible. By historical standards the Honda ST1300 is a gunboat. It's totally out of the ZX14, CB1100XX league. Honda can call it an ST but that doesn't make it so.

My old Zooker GSX1100G was a wickedly fast but overweight standard that with bags and shield made a good tourer. But I would never call it a sport tourer. It was just too heavy at 610 lbs curb weight. It would also eat the ST1100s for breakfast on a twisty road. The 1300s are even heavier.

Sorry, but I just can't think of any bike that weighs over 600 lbs as a sport anything. If I wanted a sporty touring bike it would be the SprintST. No question. Or I'd find a full fairing for my ZRex. Oh wait, I already use my Zrex with Givi bags as an ST.

Change that to the DL1000 and maybe. But I'm looking at it from an insurance guy viewpoint. If I know it's in the segment rating-wise it's included.

I wouldn't bet on that. Kawasaki has kept some bikes around longer than BMW has. The KZ1000 Cop bike ran longer than some BMW bricks... 25years? The Ninja500 probably needs new dies to stamp the cases by now. As far as Zooker goes how about the air/oil engine? It ran 20 years.

F650 singles and brick triples have come and gone. Slash series airheads didn't last as long as the KZ1000 either.
