Default Safety question!!

Hi,

How dangerous is it to ride your motorcycle on the free way with a bald back tire that is showing metal almost clear around the tire?

Cars are safer because if they get a flat it pulls then you pull over. I heard a motorcycles tire will explode at higher speeds when it finally pops and is very dangerous.

I would appreciate your opinions on this subject. I would think it would be better to tow the motorcycle to the place of destination . I have been told riding it in under these circumstances is like a crap shoot situation.

Thank you very much

Back tire blow out is a slight bit less dangerous than the front tire. Threads showing is not good. I'd remove the wheel and drive the wheel back to whomever is replacing the tire.

The tire companies like to save the best for last. The metal is really the good stuff and adheres to the road surface like studded tires.

The sparks are just a bonus.

What the hell type of post is this? This isn't a safety issue, but an intelligence issue. if you have a bald tire with the steel belt showing on a car or a motorcycle you are retarded for not taking care of it sooner.

And a car can do a whole lot more than just pull.

Second of all, this reads like a setup or a girlfriend/wife what is looking to point out to her dumbass boyfriend/husband that he needs to take care of his sh!t better. Which, if that is the case, it should be followed up with a kick in his ass.

That's sick! Why not just get rid of the tire, and ride on the rim...You're not Scottish are you?

Ride VERY SLOWLY to a bike shop and get a new tire mounted. Do not exceed 25-30 mph.

We have just saved you a lot of skin. Or bones. Both!

Take the wheel off and take it to a shop to get the new tire mounted and balanced. Don't run your tires down like that again. High speed blow-outs are no fun, depending on the speed and traffic density you could get killed, is that plain enough?

Un like a car, bikes have only TWO contact patches hitting the road. That being the case, isn't the answer about safety obvious?
