Storage space? if I want storage I'll take my crew cab Chevy silverado, lol. Honestly, storage space doesn't rate real high in my book when buying a bike. sorry. not trying to be rude, it's just my opinion. I never had storage on my yamaha or vtx. if I need to take somethign with me, I wear a backpack, or strap the pack down on the back seat.

the tranny should hold up fine. it's not new to honda, they have been putting them into 4 wheelers for years. Also, remember. this bike has been available in Japan and the UK for about 2 years. The owners over there have nothing but good things to say about the bike.

I do have a bit of a bonus. one of my neighbors is the regional honda motorcycle rep. He told me if I ever have an issue to bring it to him, and he'll get it fixed. I know it's just words, but it makes me feel better. lol

i have alot of practical reasons for this bike. it's perfect for commuting to work. no shifting, ABS braking system (i can't tell you how many times I've had to ride out a hard brake skid on the interstate). not many emissions, etc.

From what I understand, there's only 1000 of these in the US. which bothers me. I have a feeling that's why the price is high. I got mine for $13999. But I was told that any other dn-01 they received would have ot be sold @ $15999. Evidentally, Honda lower the price at first, and then quickly raised it. no one knows why? but the my dealer had to price-lock the bike I bought. All I know, is that I benefited from it. I guess if it was $15999, I probably would have passed as well. I also had a trade in, so I could probably sell it a year from now and still manke $$ from the sale. But who knows what the value will be a year form now?

"But who knows what the value will be a year from now?"

The value should be about half of what you paid if the Honda resale value theory holds up.

+1. It's actually pretty cool looking in person, and it's a damn fine scooter. But the price is just...inexplicable.

The Mana is sweet looking, the DN-01 looks like a scooter. If I were buying a auto-trans bike, it would be the Mana (or maybe the T-Max). Much better bang for the buck, IMHO.

that's probably true. that's how i got my 02 vtx1800c. I bought it in early 04 for 7800, and the new ones were still around 12,999. but 5 years later the BB value dropped to 6800.

that's always been strange to me. honda cars keep their value pretty well. but the bikes don't. the bikes are extremely realiable and run forever with little work or maintenance. unlike a HD (sorry if i offend, but it's true).

I'll play.

Let me guess, you have experience with HD's so you know their unreliability to be true?

No let me guess, your a hd fan boy?
let's see 4 of my closest friends and coworkers all have /or had HD's. Everyone of them has nothing BUT problems with their HD's. they have a heritage, fatboy, wide glide, and sportster. their combined input always keeps me away from HD's. I seriously thought about getting one, until they pulled me back.
So, I take the word of my close friends and hearing them complain about another high cost repair.

So, if your closest friend told you he got crabs from a girl. Would you do her too? i mean, you don't have first hand experience with her, so your opinion of her means nothing, right?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Just in case he's not, no I am not a fan boy of any brand. I've just known no one to have problems with an HD that weren't brought on by themselves.
