Hey folks,

I'm planning to pick up a '09 ninja 650 as soon as it hits the market in CA. Just wondering if folks elsewhere managed to get one and would like to share their thoughts on what they think about their new ride.

Their cool and easy to insure. The Versys is a better all-arounder and cheaper to insure, though.

A friend of mine had one for a year. She liked it except for the too stiff suspension. You should get a test ride before you decide.

Personally i like the ER-6n myself... Hey ace, considering that the ER-6n, Ninja 650 and Versys are so similar, how different is the insurance on them?

If its got a cowling its more expensive!

I prefer bikes with fairings. The 2009 Ninja 650R would be the bike I'd buy if I were buying new this year. It's got great looks, has decent torque, gets good fuel economy, and is much less expensive to insure than a supersport. Good choice!

Nice bike, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Take it easy until you have a few hundred miles on it so you can familierize yourself with the new bikes handling and power band..

Hardly, in most cases but some companies actually have the Versys in a dual sport slot making it reeeeeaaaaalllly cheap.
