They look better in print than in life. Seemed rather fat at the IMS.

Oh so true, and that's usually the case. Through the years I'v learned to not judge too much on paper but once Yamaha realeased the pic's, I thought wow, that is ugly.

After checking them out at IMS, I found the old adage to still hold true. Dont judge it till ya see it. Still don't like the seat section or the pipes. Wished they would have gone to a shorty style exhaust.

At least it does not have ugly turn signal integrated mirrors on it. Can't wait to hear Kevin's impressions, particularly about the motor, which has been Yamaha's comparative "weak point" for awhile. Weak in quotes, as any vintage R1 has more power than this rider needs!
