I find a good shotgun is the best theft deterent. I remember seeing one, I'm not sure of the make but it came with interchangable barrels. 18 in. for home security work and a 28 in. for hunting. Not a bad deal I thought, of course if you don't want to mess around changing barrels a good long range weapon like my 1918 SMLE MK 3 will reach out and touch someone up to 2 or 3 thousand yards at least.
Dr. Seruzawa is right of course, the best solution is to live where there aren't a bunch of criminals.

I've never had much worry about my 599.

Though one could call the Speed Triple or a Buell a "Loonie Cycle" since the front wheel spends so much time climbing for the moon.
There is a Welfare Cycle. The chances of a cycle being stolen become greater the closer we get to the distribution of the next check. Then when the checks are issued theft drops to zero for a couple days. Then the chances of theft begin to increase again. This is also true of burglary, auto theft, etc. Muggings tend to follow an opposite pattern.

I work from home, for my own single-person law office, so calling in Gay wouldn't have been worth much! (BTW my bike is straight but not narrow.)
