So Kevin, is the 1198 model line replacing the 1098 line? Or is Ducati now selling 848, 1098 and 1198 versions?

Hey, Buz. The 1198 will replace the 1098 in the Ducati lineup. Pete just flew out today to ride the 1198 at the awesome new Portimao track in Portugal. I'm still wondering why I didn't snag that one for myself...

So I understand. But what the hell is the rationale? You could argue you don't like the luminas, pickups and hummers, but what is it to you if someone else does (and keeps the industry rolling).

Beats me. Ask the people that want them to fail. By the way, GM hasn't made a Lumina for about 10 years I think.

Who wants them to fail? If they don't do a major reorganization they most definitely WILL fail no matter how much taxpayer cash is funneled to them.

Why not bail out every failing small business in America too? That's where most Americans work. Oh yeah. And bail me out too while you're at it.

"Who wants them to fail?"

Lots of people. You don't have to look far, just check a couple threads here and you can find more than one.

Funny how they all sh*t a brick at the thought of the suits in the banking industry in trouble (through their own greed and stupidity) and beg for $700 billion but when a manufacturer who through direct and indirect means provides close to 200 million family wage jobs is in trouble (through their own mismanagement stupidity and greed)they balk at $25 bil. and lament their need for change, blame the Unions etc.. something of a double standard here.
