Cleveland Clinic annual 'Teddy Bear' motorcycle run canceled
10 months ago CLEVELAND -- The event that attracts more than 10,000 motorcyclists each year has been canceled.

August 9 would have been the 23rd annual "Teddy Bear Run," where motorcyclists collect games, books and toys for the children at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital.

Last year more than 13,000 riders collected more than 15,000 toys for the event.

Event organizers say the anticipation of heavy motorcycle traffic required extra help from the Cleveland Police and the Ohio Department of Transportation and they weren't able to get the safety plan in place in time.

Part of Interstate 71 is shut down to accommodate the riders.

After contacting the Cleveland Clinic I have finally recieved an answer. In their words,"The Teddy Bear Ride from the IX Center to Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is under review to keep the ride safe for all who participate". They suggest 2 other rides that do benefit the kids in thier children's hospital. They are: Teddy Bear Run at Fairview Hospital on June 27th and Ride to Read at Shaker Campus on July 18th.
