Calif. lawmakers get free gasoline - Yahoo! News

The 'I trust them' statement just floors me.

This surprises anyone? Kalif has one of the most corrupt State govts in the country. Sure, New Jersy and Illinois are vying for the title but Kalif is right in the running.

Chicago has Cali beat by a mile. Hell, nobody will even run against King Daley any more. They will be run out of town if they do. Any dissention among the ranks and you are politcally assasinated. That's the way the 'Honest Dems' run things here.

No Incumbents 08! Too bad we couldn't vote out the feds before they give away $700 billion of our money to the thieves that took it in the first place. Come Nov I'll be voting them out!

Not that I believe you should trust Politicians any further than you can throw the State-owned car they're drivin' - but did any of you guys actually LOOK AT THE NUMBERS?

It's not that much: - on average, they use less fuel than I did per month, per Legislator. - And I rode a moto most of the time; with The Wife using the car on a limited basis.

You are a damned gas HOG! I'm not sure how much it is, but the wrong people are paying for it.

~$220,000.00 in fuel-costs for 120-odd Legislators for 7-months, with 21 of them charging over $3,000? And 25 of them had a second car that cost an additional $9,500 total.........

Yeah, they should probably pay for all that themselves. But it's not as egregious as the article made it to be.

Wouldn't you just love to have a job where you could vote yourself a pay raise, get free gas, free lodging, free food, and then set up a really nice pension plan for yourself when you decide the free stuff is getting old?

I had a similar thought:

Deficit: $1,500,000,000
Gas: $220,000

It's chump change and a distraction. They need to focus on the big stuff.
