They generally spend more time on stage in Britain. And they work for less. Not to mention US Studios can film for less in Europe than they can in California.
interesting fact: 10 years ago 90% of movies were filmed in California. Today it's about 30%. Thanx to unions and liberal tax policy.

I forgot to mention Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones... Lots of good American actors it seems. Guess Brits are just popular now.
