My kid loves 'em. He can tear through a box of Cookies 'n Cream Pope Tarts in 2 days.

So...how about that Papal resignation? It's because he's... um... ah... sick, yeah, that's the ticket, he's just not feeling well. So for the first time in 4 centuries, a Pope will retire rather than die in place. His Vatican Social Security checks should cover his expenses ok, so we're left to wonder:

What's the real reason? He couldn't stand yet another gruesome child molestation case? The Knights of the Templar outmanuvered the Popial Troops in a bizzare search for a document proving Jesus was a Scientologist? The Pope is actually a dangerous, violent man who's been repeated caught beating the Bishop?

If you want to see really rampant child abuse you need look no further than the State Juvenile systems of the 50 States. The Catholics are nothing compared to the State.

All kidding aside, the Catholic Church does a hell of a lot of good in the world, way more than their detracters. Their work in Africa alone along with the Anglican Church feeds educates and inoculates half the population.

I will concede them that. They are in the "Far more Good than Bad" category, so far as Humanitarian endeavours.

Oh yeah - and it's 6 centuries, not 4.

Pope Gregory XII (ne' Angelo Corraro) alongside Antipope John XXIII (ne' Baldassarre Cosa) in 1415 in favour of ending the division of the Church that would most-likely have resulted in a papal civil-war that could have destroy it utterly, had it been allowed to continue.

Pope Martin V (Oddone Colonna) succeeded them both, but was not elected until Gregory XII's death in 1417.

This is not even CLOSE to the same situation.
