Looking up "Hippo Hands" because it getting down below freezing at night and my Heritage is a little thin on hand protection. My hands are very cold sensitive after years of crappy weather riding so I figure a set of the Canadian Mittens would do the trick, well this vid popped up and reminded me of the ol' Nat. Lampo "Mud splattering Hippo fart" comic..

I think there is a company that makes a set of hand guards for your HOG.
They look kinda dirt bike dorky but might suffice for the winter. Heated grips baby! |

I bought a set of Warm 'n Safe 12vdc gloves year before last after freezing my hands during Bike Week. About $120 for the gloves and harness, IIRC. Naturally it hasn't gotten cold enough to use them since.
If I were doing it again, I'd probably go for the new battery powered gloves. It looks like they're pretty good now; 8+ hours ride time, rechargable 100's of times, etc. Handguards are big help too. They also keep the wind from blowing up your sleeves.
