Today's lunch ride takes us to the central CA town of San Luis Obispo. I was getting a little restless for a nice ride. The GF couldn't get off work so I set out on my own.

After a brutal beatdown in LA traffic on the way up, I arrived 300 miles later in SLO. I stopped by Firestone Grill for a famous Tri tip sandwich. The next morning I pointed the GTL south.

I stopped for a few pics in the Lake Cachuma area outside of Santa Barbara.

The K6 performed admirably returning 42 MPG. A 600 mile roundtrip for a sandwich!

Man, am I envious!

Even if the sandwich sucked, it'd still be a nice ride!

Nice bike. Is that handlebar stock and in the stock position? What was the temperature? It looks a bit warm.

Many a rider has visited San Luis Obispo.
Few have left without being abducted by aliens and/or sustaining some kind of memory loss.

That is a totally stock bar.

The temp swings wildly in coastal CA this time of year. Between Ventura and Santa Barbara it was foggy and 65 degrees. 101 makes a right turn inland at some points and you go up and over a hill and gain 30 degrees in temp easy.

Then you make another left toward the coast and go from sweating to oh so cool.
