I wish I could fit in my car with a helmet on...

A friend of mine (who is unbelievably fast!) is in your height-class; he autocrosses (sometimes) a late-'90s Miata with a Mazdaspeed turbo-kit. He just puts the top down, and looks over the upper-edge of the windshield....

(and even with the seat back, and him folded-up and stuffed into the car, he STILL usually wins his class, and has one of the faster raw-times of the day)

(you should see him drive his INSANE gutted-and-hack-fu-lightened full-caged '89 RX-7 w/LS-1 - that thing will literally flatten your eyeballs: he was within 2.5-seconds of the track Record @ Hallett on a trackday last summer - on shagged-ass Hoosier R6-tires - on a TRACKDAY....)

(I wanted to drive it, but couldn't reach the pedals with the hard-mounted race-seat. Seriously.)

He must be all torso, It was all I could do to fold up into the passenger seat of a miata. My knees were above the door sills.

He's like 6'-17" or so... looks like a Daddy-Long-Legs drivin' the Miata...

Seriously tho - I think he's done something to the seat of that car, I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam, and I feel like a small child playin' VroomVroom in his daddy's car if I sit in one of his fixed-seat vehicles.

Maybe you could get a Mini convertible and wear it as your helmet. Use the seat belt for a chin strap...
