In a perfect world, rocket scientists, not rock stars, would have all the groupies.

Did you give your prospects extra gravy and cole slaw or something?

You didn't rest your mop handle against a control panel sometime in 1986, did you?

That was a really cool video Buzz, thanks for posting it.

Every now and then we'd get to take a turn to step outside Launch Control and watch the liftoff. The best place was between the VAB and the LCC; the sound waves from the pad would concentrate in the corner the buildings made. It was a hammering; very physical, almost more than you could take.

No, but I did get a NASA commendation for preventing a scrub of STS-4 by identifying a data setup error at T-9 minutes. They were about to stop the countdown when I noticed a rotary selector switch in the wrong position and set it right; which restored a flight-critical data stream from the Orbiter. Interestingly, I received a IBEW union grievance for the very same thing...I was supposed to tell one of the union guys to move the switch and not do it myself.

And the Union guy would have been on break and the whole thing would have been FUBAR.

You would have gotten fired and he would be living on a generous pension.

Awesome work! I hope you've got that commendation framed and displayed.
