Default Ride through the snow for a tuna sandwich

Today's lunch ride! We've had a recent storm come through and dump about a foot of snow in the local mountains. The weather is warming up quickly and I wanted to get a snow ride in. I pointed the Blue Angel toward Idylwild, CA.

I had to stop for a few mountains photos for you flatlanders.

I can say I made a snowball this year.

The temps were in the upper 40s in the mountains. It was windy as hell coming down. Once I hit sea level it was back in the 70s. I had a quick tuna sandwich up there because we evil Catholics don't eat meat on Friday during Lent.

It was about 175 miles roundtrip which equates to about 600 FL miles.

We had a wonderful Hibachi salmon steak, shrimp and oyster shooters at this Japanese steakhouse I frequent last night. Didn't ride the bike though

Well, I did this morning but that probably doesn't count...

Doing the med/dental thing in Colorado. Start up hours with the company.
I've skipped riding more days because of wind than snow. 45mph is nerve racking. 60-80mph gusts scare the crap out of me. Gave up on the Tuono and FJR and bought a KLR with a roll cage to explore the Rockies.

So Cal reminds me of Lebanon. You can hit the beach in the morning in Beruit and get a tan, then drive up to the mountains and snow ski the rest of the day. Neat; I'm jealous.

I never noticed the big "6" on the side of your bike in previous photos of that model. I assume that topcase means you have the touring model. Which is strange; it's hard to think of you as being ready for a Gold Wing.

No but the pea gravel they throw down can be a little unnerving.

You forget, Dear Reader that the "Glyd" in "Buzglyd" refered to his late lamented Ultra. The K16 is a comparative lightweight for him..
