Well, their choices are between scrolling or being a whiny pu$$y.

We know what they chose.

The only way for us to set it so you don't see topics from certain sections would be, in essence, to ban you from those sections. This is a rather heavy-handed way to go about this, and our policy is to leave it to the individual user to opt not to read those threads rather than outright restrict the user from seeing them.
OK, cool. That's pretty much the definitive answer I was looking for.

Luckily, the Administrator of this board knows how to read a post and respond to the post, rather than just typing clever variations of "pu$$y" as a reply.

Admin, thanks for the answer; the e-thugs can fuc|< off (see, I can do it, too, ya pu$$ies).

FTR, though, I'd be interested in blocking the right-wing crap and Tea Bagger hogwash.
Why? Aren't you interested in what other people who have different opinions from you have to say? If all you ever hear is what you already believe, you have, by definition, a closed mind. As the token liberal here, my only complaint has been people who can't make their point without making personal attacks. However, by and large, the people posting political viewpoints are gentlemen and don't stoop to that.

You idiot!

Ooops! Sorry Kmo.

Kenneth and I fight like cats and dogs but we don't whine when a topic isn't to our liking. KMo is not a pu$$y.

We even share bites of our sandwich after it's over.

Honestly, on this site, no I'm not interested. I don't tune out the right (although exceptions are made for far-righters), and I'm all about equity of reasoned opinion. However, I was just wondering if there was a way, other than just scrolling down, to ignore the political forum.. exclude it from view.

I didn't troll the political forum itself...
I didn't start $hit with any other members of the site..

The reason I asked in the first place is that I am simply not interested in politics on this site. I honestly don't see how some of the other clowns in this thread can associate that with being a "pu$$y", but if their comments in THIS thread are any indication of how they respond to political topics they feel strongly about, then yeah, I'm doubly-not-interested in what they have to say.

Frankly, the backlash against asking a pretty simple question speaks volumes, very close to sounding like the inmates run the asylum here (or think they do).

I'm just trying to keep the spirit of longride alive. A difficult task at best.

Technically, that comment wasn't aimed specifically at you. Although with yourself as the OP, in a re-read I can see where my "READY!FIRE!AIM!" style of posting could be seen as such.

This is not the first time this subject has been addressed.

I apologize, you sort of got "caught in the crossfire".

Just an FYI.
