Talking Good night, Irene!

Well, I'm sending this you to from the Delaware beaches. Supposed to get pretty hairy this weekend. Have supplies (i.e. beer and T.P.). Will write once the storm passes. Wish me luck!

In all seriousness, I'll be riding this one out at the hospital, about a mile from the Delaware coast. It's a big storm. We're expecting some beach erosion and flooding. Typical.

B!tch is headed straight to me, too.

I'll be gluing down shingles tomorrow.

Keep your heads down, guys.

Remember the family when you start to consider doing something stupid.

Like doing your 'Jim Cantore' impression.

Make sure you have lots of flushing water in the event the water mains fail. Or do what I did during Opal, and take a 5-gallon pail out to the flooded ditch.

Good luck!

Default It Shall Pass

The storm will pass and all will be well. So it is said. So it is written.

It's like the media roots for disaster.

It was hilarious watching the reporter in VA Beach give his dire report while people were running around in the background dropping their pants and other tomfoolery.

He was lecturing how stupid it was for people to be outside while he's standing outside of course-as if he had some special training to be out in extreme weather events.

Well, we here in the mid-Atlantic have finally experienced what y'all out west go through regularly. An earthquake, a tornado, and a hurricane, all in one week! The only thing missing was a wildfire. I don't know how (or why) you guys and gals do it!

You forgot to mix in a riot.

But wait, you did!

Default Good News

Glad you made it through Doc. Beer and butt wipes sure do make a disaster easier to deal with. Did Napolitano or Biden help with the pre-disaster preparations where you were? I know Obama cut short his 13th vacation to help.
