Default Best time to go.

I believe this is the best time of the year to go there. I have not been but I am hoping to go next year. May you become one with yourself and receive total conscience.

Seru,

We stayed in Island Park at a B&B called 'A River Runs By It'.

Fantastic place, and the nicest people!

Yes they are! I was at Idyllwild early in June with my girl, hiking in the mountains. Stayed in a cabin. Makes for a great getaway. Enjoy your trip!

Just got back from KC last night - I secured the SCCA Midwest Division F-Stock Championship. Of course, it wasn't as much fun do to so, because my rival elected not to come and play this round (funds issue).

Even a Hollow Victory is still a Victory, I suppose....

Hey, the number in the left column is what you are after, after all!

What kind of car are you running?

2008 Bullitt Mustang. (#2954, if you couldn't figure it out from the plate and my number)

Here's a pic from Day 1, Run 2, about 4-seconds before I experienced my first ever "Ice Pedal":

The course made a sort of "spiral" then doubled-back on this section, and veered-off to another section (and then they would start the next car). Because I no-longer had anything "on the line" (I won by default), I just hooned-it up through here on the way back - drifted back-around the curve (and got a few comments from the announcer about it). The photographer didn't get any photos of that, unfortunately (I was told by several ppl. that it "Looked F'n Cool").

And here I am right after that curve, about to go offroading (POST "Ice Pedal"). Primarily because I carried too-much speed across a pavement-transition. I managed to keep it pointed the right way, and did not spin the car (probably why there's only this photo and not a dozen-more of grass and dirt flying about):

"Ice Pedal" is when one wheel locks (due to a pavement-transition from asphalt to concrete, in this case) and the ABS "over-reacts" because it believes the car to be on ice, so cuts braking to all four wheels (to prevent a spin). Pedal is hard as a rock: no Brakey. I'd not yet had it happen in this car, so drawing on my years of experience; I froze at the wheel......

My fav-O car of the entire field was this crazy Miata-thing a couple of friends of mine were driving:

Early Miata shell, quickchange-rear, Mazda 20B 3-rotor w/Powerglide trans running only 1st gear - the photographer captured no pics of the car doing it, but once the exhaust was good & hot and loaded-up with fuel, on trailing-throttle that "stack" blew flame out if it about 7-8 feet long. It rev'd to only about 9500rpm, but sounds like 25K.....

I laughed a LOT at that one.

Here's one last "Action Photo" from a ProSolo last year at the airbase in Blytheville, AR (8.5million sq. ft. of concrete - an Autocrosser's Dream!). Note long, dark stripe beginning off-camera and ending at my rear wheel(s). I spun the car about 10-seconds later (but have no photos of that).

My driving style has been described as "20% Recklessness; 30% Idiocy; 5% Skill and the rest Dumb Luck".

Probably.
