Default Airbus A380

I've been watching a series on the development, manufacture, and testing of the Airbus A380. This is the new super-size passenger jet that recently collided with a small commuter jet at JFK.

The technology and logistics of building the jet are amazing; only Boeing's 747 even comes close. It carries up to 800 (the standard configuration is about 550) passengers on two decks both of which extend the length of the fuselage. One set of landing gear weighs as much as 20 cars. Etc. etc. etc.

But, the damn thing is BUTT-UGLY!! It looks like an salami with wings. There is nothing graceful or sleek about it. This jet truly pays homage to the "Air-Bus" name.

Dumb ****s.

Fun Facts to Know and Tell!

Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion.

Its.......A FACT!

I follow all things 'technology,' and so I was familiar with the A380.

I finally saw one at London Heathrow in December.

It is an enormous aircraft! Even without other planes around it for scale.

On take-off, it was hard to tell if it actually lifted off, or the earth dropped away from it!

One went flying around the bay last year, freaking huge, looked to defy gravity.
