Default Screw the critics, "Battle: LA" rocks

Battle: Los Angeles is an earnest, pro-military, heroic love song to the Marines Corps, so of course, p***y movie critics hate it.

Throw in a piece of dialogue that allegorically pardons Dubya, and a pragmatically approving scene of metaphorical waterboarding, and it's no wonder Roger Ebert dripped such contempt for the film.

My only complaint - it uses the dreaded shaky-cam, which is fine for the battle scenes, but utterly nauseating for quiet dialogue. Aside from that, it was an exciting, occasionally moving, popcorn-muncher mash-up of Independence Day and Saving Private Ryan.
