Default Chang Jiang on the way....

Yes, I'm graduating from a motorized wheelchair to a M71 Chang Jiang flathead with the sidecar. Got a great deal on it, as it has a lot of BMW parts in it (pistons, carbs, bearings, etc).

So lookout for a 700 lb. 22 HP beast when you are in the slow lane of the I-5 around Burbank. The wife has give up BTW.

Nitrous maybe?

Once you have it sorted out, I understand you can put a later model (and much more better) engine in the same hole.

Yeah, the pistons from the OHV motor fit, and give the anemic flathead mill a little more oomph. Also later model Bings or replace the Bings with CV Kehins. The nice thing about the CJ is it has a hand shift behind the seat on the throttle side for reverse, and the 4 forward gears.

So all I have to do is link the brakes to the front brake lever and I'm good to go. BMW parts fit just fine, and they still make parts for the motor, believe it or not. Remove the body off the sidecar frame, replace it with a 3/4 inch plywood platform with a flip-down ramp, with some tie-down eyelets for the chair, and away we go...

Hey, that's REALLY COOL Matt! What mods will you do to make it more usable for you?

Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion.

Its.......A FACT!

Matt- why not use diamond plate and paint it with rhino liner or something like it. It'll look nicer and since it's not a huge area it couldn't cost that much. Use hatchback struts on the ramp and you're in business.

how you gonna stay on the thing?

Velcro seat?

I just don't want you tipping over and bumping your noggin. I'm sure the wife is a bit concerned.

Where are you going to source the MG-34 pintle mount?
