Well thank God for Big Five and thier inept sales staff. A few weeks ago I decided on the super-inexpensive Mossberg Maverick Mod. 88 made in Mexico for $220.00. Then, after waiting the 10 days where they check my background, etc. (it must have been broken the day they checked me). I went back to Big 5 to pick up the shotgun, and the dummies had sold it!

They searched high and low and couldn't come up with another Maverick Mod.88, so they gave me a Mod. 500 Persuader 8 shot cylinder bore 3 in. shells in the parkerized finish. It now has a CAR telescoping stock, pistol grip, barrel heat shield with ghost ring sights, a nice leather sling off my VZ24, and when I find one, a bayonette lug.

So now it's a Mod 50579 Tactical Shotgun just like the Marines use. Ooh Rah! All for less than five bills. Mossberg use to build krap, but now they are solid, reliable pump guns.

The stock took a lot of the bite away when shooting slugs. Damn accurate at fifty yards! One big 1 oz lead bullet. Thud.

Heh. Anything you hit with it will fall down. Period.

Intruders, Al Quaeda, Dogs, Elephants, Mack Trucks, Zombies....... Anything.

It might get back up after it overcomes the surprise, but it'll fall down........

I carried a stainless steel Mossburg on the boat for years. The only thing it ever did for me was piss off the Customs guys in the Bahamas. "What you think Mon, we rob you? HAHAHAHA!!! $500 entry fee Mon."
