Right where I am we got sleet almost all afternoon so that might keep our inch total down; I'm guessing we have about 6 inches so far.......but you can walk on top of it.

I know that because of several trips outside during the course of "fixing" my sump pump that decided to fail this morning.

The repair was complicated by the fact that when first discovered the water was coming IN almost as fast as the pump could take it out........making it appear that the pump itself had failed......when it really was only the switch that went bad. THEN for a brief time I thought the outlet pipe was frozen up. Really fun; NOT.

My spare pump was bad but the switch was good. Checking the spare to see if it would run was about the ONLY thing I did right in the whole mess.

At least I didn't have to choose between just letting the water rise and trying to go out for a new pump. That would have been a tough choice with the blizzard in progress and all.
Holy crap! That's not Snowmageddon! That's the Icepocalypse!

Snowmegeddon? Icepocalypse? Snowlocaust?

Sounds like a friggin' SyFy Original Motion Picture marathon.

I hope none of you "Ha ha, it's warm here" clowns live in Cali. You can't take care of a mudslide, wildfire or earthquake by shoveling for an hour.

We only get 150 mph winds, 2' of rain, and no electicity for 2 weeks. No stop lights, no stores, no drinking water, trees across the roads, roofs off.

Piece o' cake!

Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion.

Its.......A FACT!

I'll take a decent quake every 120 years or so over yearly tornado's, blizzards or hurricanes. Mudslides are more of a socal thing caused by the wildfires and mainly effect those who bought houses where they shouldn't have ever been built. "That canyon with the constant erosion and burned out vegetation sure looks like a great spot for a subdivision."

I'll twist the throttle a little harder this weekend just for you guys.

How 'bout Houston getting iced over!

I tell ya, I'm with Ken on this one. South of I-10 on the Gulf is okay by me!

Although I did have to wear my workout slicker jacket on my run at lunch. That breeze out of the North was a bit nippley.

Kens right. The year of Charlie it seemed like the storms regularily arrived on Fridays, knocked out power till Sunday night then repeated itself for the next four to five weeks. Didn't make much for the weekends that's for sure.

-On another note I was surfing Queens Waikiki the before Ineki came. You could catch em in, out, left, right. It was all over the place.
