I was thinking a cinder block tied to a ski rope. The land anchor. Or maybe a grappling hook and a big bungee cord. Reverse thrusters?

Thanks Guys, all is well, just got back from a cruise around the neighborhood. A cop saw me, and just shook his head...guess I've got to get a loud pipe now....A full road test is in the works!
