I've not been able to find any information on how the 'old' batteries are holding up.
Doesn't Honda and Toyota warranty them for 8 years? The Prius has been out since 1997, so there should be some battery life data out there...

When I get my hybrid chair working I'll let you know. 12v deep cycle forklift batteries wired in series to produce a staggering 24 volts of POWER! Of course the total weight of two of these monsters is around 95 lbs, but who cares, it's just lead, acid and a bunch of electrolytes, right?

Use what the SPECWAR guys use: Black Panther Batteries Huge power, low weight and cube. (All compared to standard lead-acid batteries)
