In the 40 yrs I have lived in GA I have been drunk in Savannah at least once bi-annual since I was 21. Today I actually drove to Tybee Island. Truly an awesome place. Not panhandle Florida busy. Rooms are reasonable and the food is great. We got here today at 3pm and had feet in sand by 3:15. Rolled up to a little inn called the Sandcastle and wheeled two rooms for three nights at $99 per room per night. Usually the average is $200 n change per. All has been great. There's a little seafood bar 100ft away that has great food and live music. When I return I will post a few pics, but right now I have a room full of kids that are watching the X Games while I'm drinking beerssssssss.
If you have never been here you owe it to yourself to make it a destination. I already ran into a bike night event and they had live music too. If I didn't have a room full of kids I would join them. Pretty cool little place that will make my vacation spots from now on.

Cool! Thanks for the update. I would never have thought of going there for vaca. I always thought Tybee Island was for the richy-rich.

Never been out there. I'd like to check it out sometime.
Btw. Montreal and Quebec city were awesome. The French-canadians were friendly and generous and damn the beer is good!

Sounds like fun, One of those ghost tours would be cool. I love the architecture in the old South, some beautiful brickwork

Just got in. Pics in a while. The ghost tour that you walk was insanely hot. Not recommended in July for sure, but fun. They do a really cool hearse tour that looked real fun. River St was louder than I thought, but the Coast Guard had a grad class that stepped off one of the coolest scooners I've ever seen. And the cargo ships coming into port on the Savannah river was pretty cool, too.
