Default Indy vs Charlotte

So, this weekend we will see the latest Indy 500 and later the Coke 600. I know that most aren't into auto racing, BUT what if.......

I read today that the distance between Indy and Charlotte is 600. Imagine if we could do the following: Setting up check points appropiate for the fuel mileage- race the Indy Cars to Charlotte and then put lights on the Nascars and race them back to Indy. No lappers in the way. The risk of being caught in an accident goes way down. You do the first and last 5 laps on the track. Endurance racing on the street by two different types of cars working in teams to get the cars back and forth.

Not that it would happen, but would you pick a spot and watch them race through your area? Or would it be worth it if they both left their locations and raced opposite one another down the roads?

Just a ummmm moment. Back to work slackers.

You break into Cuddy's hooch again?

I'm a total car nut and will watch much of Indy and maybe a little of Coke.

They already did this and documented it in a movie called "Deathrace 2000".

Deathrace was killer.

Thank you. I'll be here all night. Please tip your waitresses and bartenders.

in 1985 I sent a petition to NASCAR to bring back the A7X Hudson Hornets in a special class that involved:

#1: Gas Mileage
#2: Stone Age Technology (side valve motors)
#3: Top speed

They sent me back an embossed certificate in a presentation frame that had a picture of Marshall Teague in Hornet #51 crossed up at Daytona in 1954 leading all the other cars that had V8 engines.

Now that's class.

I got a better idea. Let's go watch the MXGP at Glen Helen!
