If that were the case, we'd never see one of those idiot posts again!

It's not surprising there is scandal and such in solar power. What industry doesn't have it? I think there are times when it's appropriate to subsidize an industry with price supports or other mechanisms. It worked very well for the airline industry; I am sure there are other cases as well. Ultimately, the Sun is a giant source of free hydrogen energy. It's only a matter of time before it plays a meaningful part in a total energy production system. Along with fossil fuels.
