Default We don't need big gov't, we need smarter gov't.

The Indian Casinos out here manage to do pretty well. They are much slower though because of the CA economy.

This just shows how gov't can't be trusted to do the easiest thing well. Who loses money taking bets at the track?

It's the Peter Principle. Since the govt can't go bankrupt the most incompetent people rise to the top and you can never get rid of them. That's who will be making the health care decisions.

No, it's the E-A principle, you know the one that we can't talk about. State and Federal jobs applicants are assigned "points" for various conditions that do not necessarily indicate an aptitude or specific ability to perform the job. It's not unheard of for these applicants to get a job for which they are ill-equipped to perform over another applicant who may not possess sufficient "points" For this reason some State Agencies such as the USPS have an oversampling of persons who may not be otherwise able to find gainful employment....

Having worked for the DOD I can assure you that promotions are pre-picked on the buddy-basis no matter what the rules might pretend. Eliminating all govt management would be a positive boon since the few people who are doing anything useful in the govt are at the ground level.

Sad but true. I was trained for a job that I didn't even know was going to become available, then presto.

Sometime the screwing of the system is to make sure someone who can do the job gets it, rarely but sometimes.

HRO grip on the screening process is insane. People who have no expertise prescreening applications by some bull**** administrative protocol. Knowing how to fill out an application has become more important than what is in it... aw **** now you've gone and got me started
