Default As long as we're talkin' cars

I've got to say goodbye to an old friend. The lease is up on my current ride. Usually I'm ready for a new car after 3 years but this is the most bada$$ machine I've ever had the pleasure of driving.

It's a Mercedes-Benz CLS550. 382 hp. 391 ft-lbs. 7 speed auto. One of the most amazing V8s I've ever driven. Torque everywhere and screaming high end kick. It's easy to bait Pony Car guy into a race and then totally hose him.

I won't buy it. It's not wise to own German cars out of warranty. I'm pretty close to sealing the deal on an Infiniti G37 convertible which is a helluva car in it's own right.

The Benz though. Go to any restaurant and the valet parks that baby right in front.

Sniff....

I know what you mean, buddy. I'm six months into ownership of my Scion tC Release Series 5.0

It's got the power to safely execute passes, looks that turn heads approximately .05 degrees for .002 seconds, and the cachet that only a faux-aluminum plastic dash plaque with "462 of 2000" can provide. And that 4-cylinder engine powering a glass-roof coupe gives a power-to-weight ratio that's - well, you figure it out.

As for the restaurant parking - you think I'll trust it to a valet? That baby gets a safe space far from the door when we sashay off to Olive Garden.

Careful on the new G's, my buddy sent his back via lemon law. But it was the new G35x, not the 37.

McLaren F1, my favorite car. Love the matching luggage and golf bag it came with.

Not me - I love driving! But, I also love riding motos too!

They've both got their uses, as well as disadvantages.

If and when my '02 Exploder wears out I was going to spring for a Navigator, however as useful as this has turned out to be I may just get another one. This is the 3rd Explorer I've owned and they've all held up really well hauling me, kids and dogs around in snow and ice, out camping and in the sand at the ocean.

might be "just a Ford" but the sum' b*tch's work...

Funny how I just let it slip to MB that I was looking at another brand. They want to offer me a discounted purchase on my car and extend the warranty.

I could live with it for another two years.

I figure by the time you walk out of there, you'll have them payin' YOU for the privilege of taking that car off their hands, if you don't own the Dealership outright.............
