Default Obama and Spinal Tap

There's a scene in This is Spinal Tap when they run into a fellow rock star in a hotel lobby. Duke is played by Howard Hessman. Of course Spinal Tap is playing some amusement park and Duke is playing a huge arena.

As Duke walks away the groups grumps at him and talks about how terrible he is.

"They were still booing him while we were on stage."

Obama team too busy spinning to listen - CNN.com

For a man that says he will lay blame squarely on his shoulders when things go wrong in his house he sure does spend a lot of time explaining why things aren't his fault.

"Well, if you get to 10, where else do you have to go? We've got 11, so we can take it past where the other bands leave off."

Remember when Martha Coakley said that maybe Catholics shouldn't work in emergency rooms? Her campaign manager said, "It's OK. Boston isn't a big Catholic town."

That's like when they're gig got cancelled and the band manager said Philly (I think) wasn't a big rock and roll town.

Nope. Their Boston gig got cancelled, and he said, "It's OK, it's not a big college town."

Which made the Coakley gaffe ten times funnier.

Jintao (through translator): Will you kiss me?
Obama: I'm sorry?
Jintao: Will you kiss me?
Obama: I don't understand........
Jintao: I like to be kissed when SOMEONE IS DOING SEX TO ME!

When they had Zero giving his speech with the Greek Columns around him I couldn't help but think of the Stonehenge sequence from Spinal Tap. It mad a very boring mindless speech quite entertaining.

We had a Stonehenge monument that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf! It tended to understate the hugeness of the object!

Perhaps we could change the choreography a bit to keep the dwarves clear.
