OK, Maybe the 2 wheeled godess is speaking to me but I got all bundled up and went out there uncovered her, and can't open the saddlebag, there may be ice inside the keyhole or something got damaged last time I played with her, but I cant get the box open and my gloves, facemask and neckwrap are in there, so I'll call this a morning I should've slept in. GGGRRRrrrrrrr
After some thought and this sounds like something outta Mythbusters but I rode 2-3 days ago got home pulled off my gloves and facemask, put em in the box and shut it. Is it posable that condensation from my gear got the mechanism jammed? The key (as compared to the other side) is lacking about 1/4 inch depth from being in enough to engage. My mind is boggled, when disappointed I feel like I need a reason.

Yes, and yes. Do you have anything like windshield de-icer, or maybe even some silicone spray? I've thawed iced-over padlocks before with each of them. Anything that leaves an oil film behind I would avoid - that might freeze itself.

Ok, I soaked a bottle of WD-40 in warm water hoping it's heat may help a little and put a squirt in the keyhole and freed it, I had to put a bit of downforce on it though and POP it sank then turned freely thanks for the advice, I was afraid of the paint (chemicals & overspray) & just considered waiting till a warmer day but the warmest we've seen was 34 in the last 3 weeks.

Well, the WD was what I was thinking of when I said "Anything that leaves an oil film behind I would avoid - that might freeze itself", but I'm glad you got it open.

Luckily, in a few days, it'll be like you never shot any WD-40 in it in the first place.

21 degrees? Are you F'ING NUTS!?!?!?

I had to take the Vee in for a throttle body sync and valve adjustment Saturday am. It was low 40's and raining when I took it in at 9. It was so cold at that point that when I went to pick it up at 4, I put on my old ski suit under the rain suit. By that time it was in the upper 30's, and still wet. Even with all that, heavy gloves, full-face helmet, I was a popsicle when I got home.

I finally (after much stupidity on my part) made it a personal rule that; when the bike does not want to start due to the cold - I take the car. After one single-digit morning struggling to get the bike running, then abject misery despite insulated and electric clothing on the ride to work, then back. I instituted that rule-of-thumb.
